Long-term impressions from hardware I’ve actually used — not day-one first-impressions. These are component reviews for homelab and high-performance desktop builds: cooling, motherboards, power supplies, and peripherals.

What a long-term review means here

A review on this page is written after the part has lived in a working build, not after a weekend on an open test bench. That changes what gets reported. A day-one review captures out-of-box performance; a long-term review captures the things that only show up after months of real use — coil whine that develops, a pump that gets louder, VRM temperatures under a summer ambient, software that degrades, the warranty experience, and the resale picture once the part is a generation old.

The trade-off is honest: there are fewer parts here than on a site that reviews every launch, because each one has to actually run in a build long enough to have something true to say. The components covered are the ones in the operator’s own daily-driver and homelab systems, so the failure modes reported are the ones that were genuinely hit, not the ones a spec sheet predicts. Where a number is measured it is first-party and labeled; where context comes from someone else’s testing, that source is named.
